It used to be that there were adjustments that could be made to "tune up" a motor. However, most vehicles on the road today use computers to manage engine function. Newer vehicles require replacement of fuel filter, air filter, and spark plugs to be "tuned up."
In most cases a visual inspection can determine if a vehicle needs a tune up. In some case we need to remove spark plugs to be certain that they need to be replaced.
Replacing spark plugs, fuel filters, or air filters are all basic repairs. But making sure these repairs are done correctly at the appropriate time can help, and in many cases, improve your fuel economy.
